Tax Season begins January 23, 2023!

Tax season officially begins on Monday, January 23, 2023! We look forward to seeing you this year. Like previous years, we are offering tax prep filing services in a variety of ways:

Drop Off Tax Service

Drop off your tax documents during our business hours and your tax preparer will start working on your tax return. Once they’ve finished preparing your tax return, they will call you to let you know it’s ready for signatures. You can choose to schedule a quick signing appointment or sign remotely online.

In-Office Filing Appointment

Meet with a tax preparer in person to go over your tax situation and file your tax return. Once your tax preparer is finished preparing your return, you will sign and pay. Your tax preparer will then process your tax return and you’ll be ready to go.

Online Tax Prep

Upload your tax documents to our secure client portal. Your tax preparer will prepare your tax return and give you a call to discuss your tax return. You will receive a link to e-sign your tax return and pay your tax prep fees.

Tax documents needed to file

Every situation is different, but here are some common documents we may need when filing your tax return:

  • Valid government-issued photo ID for you and your spouse

  • Social security cards for everyone listed on tax return and birth dates for all dependents

  • Proof of income documents (W-2s, 1099s, unemployment, income and dividends on interest statements, etc.)

  • Insurance if you purchased off the marketplace (Form 1095-A)

  • Childcare expenses and provider information

  • Business and other deductible expenses

  • Alimony paid or received

  • Property taxes paid

  • Mortgage and home equity interest paid

  • Bank account information (account and routing number) if you would like to have your refund direct deposited or if you would like to pay taxes you owe using Direct Debit

  • A copy of last year’s tax return, if possible

Please ensure that you have all your tax documents before meeting with your tax preparer to avoid delays.

2023 Tax Deadline

The tax deadline is Tuesday, April 18, 2023, instead of April 15 because of the weekend and the District of Columbia's Emancipation Day holiday, which falls on Monday, April 17.

If you file an extension, you will have until Monday, October 16, 2023, to file. Please note that the deadline only extends the time to file and any tax balance due must be paid by the April 18, 2023 deadline.

Get Started Today!

If you’re ready to file your tax return, give us a call at (360) 922-0235. We’ll be happy to discuss which filing option is best for you and get you set up.
